Vedic Mathematics is the name given to the ancient system of Indian Mathematics, which was rediscovered, from the Vedas between 1911 and 1918 by Sri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji, a scholar of Mathematics, Sanskrit as well as History and Philosophy who lived from 1884-1960. His research clearly reveals that, the entire mathematics is based on 16 word-formulae also known as the Sutras. For example, ‘Vertically and Crosswise` is one of these Sutras. These formulae tell you as to how does the mind work naturally and are thus extremely helpful in guiding the students to the correct method of solution. Vedic mathematics includes Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Calculus and other forms of Mathematics.
